Friendly support & information - included in all our holidays

Our team consists of Peli and her family and staff who you will see every day whether you are at Peli Hotel or at Mithimna Beach. Juliet and David you will see on some days, usually sitting down with you at breakfast time and taking you on guided walks, if you wish. They will also explain about health treatments you may wish to have. You might have a food allergy checked free of charge or want to book a massage. Dave often tells people their exact hour of birth if they are interested in astrology – Juliet has written a book on travel using Astro*Carto*Graphy . If you wish to travel in this way you need to know your time of birth. We all just do lots of things so you can sit back and enjoy your holiday.

We have the know-how to make arrangements like the boat trip to Balos Bay or the Samaria Gorge walk. We can help you with anything else that makes your holiday feel that little bit more special.

Juliet sometimes has a little bazaar one day offering local goods such as small bottles of organic olive oil and flower clips for the hair, as well as her book 'Fly Me to the Moon' (proceeds for the flower clips help in providing a massage service at the Old People’s Home and Remedial Centre in Kasteli).

We take great care with the selection of our course teachers. It is important to us that they are caring and friendly in their approach as they are so important to the focus of your holiday. Many have been with us for several years and are very experienced at delivering a wonderful time to suit all participants.

Venues and Accommodation

We have carefully chosen accommodation over a period of years for friendliness and suitability for our holidays.

At both Peli Hotel and Mithimna Beach we have dedicated yoga spaces and areas suitable for Discovery Holidays.

Peli Hotel with a large pool is right by Mavros Molos Beach, a small crescent shaped sandy beach with cafes. Rooms don't have sea views - the hotel is one block back from the beach, however you can overlook the pool, gardens and mountains. The hotel is on the edge of the small town of Kasteli, so shops and services are in easy walking distance.
Mithimna Beach has a rural setting with a couple of tavernas and a mini market to hand. The beach is a mixture of shingle and sand. Accommodation is in studio rooms with kitchenettes close to a purpose built yoga space. There's a 25 minute coastal stroll to a fabulous pool overlooking the sea - it's free for you to use.

At both venues the rooms are owned by families and are quite homely to reflect the simplicity of life. You won't find fancy luxury items but the rooms are all en suite, with fridges, a/c, balconies and are set in gardens. You can make your own hot drinks in the complementary drinks corner at Peli or in your studio's kitchenette at Mithimna Beach. If you need a hairdryer we suggest you bring your own. Wi fi is available at or near to both Venues and there are internet cafes in Kasteli.

Food and Special Diets

All the food included in the holiday is vegetarian, either home made or local specialities. Peli and Juliet are often asked for recipes!

food and special dietsSpecial diets

Your health is important and if you have a restricted diet you don't want it to be a cause of anxiety on holiday. So, please tell us on your booking form what you cannot eat; then we can offer alternatives. We have managed a gluten free, diabetic, vegan diet receiving praise for the best ever muesli. We aim to provide the same level of variety for everyone, regardless of diet. If you want, we'll give you Greek words to help you make choices in tavernas and cafes.

Am I fit enough?

If you're new to yoga all the holidays are suitable for you; Astanga yoga requires a reasonable level of fitness and agility. All walking and discovery holidays have easy grade walks as extras for which you will require walking sandals or trainers; flip flops are not suitable. There is the option of walking the Samaria Gorge – the longest gorge in Europe running out to the sea. This is a really epic walk successfully completed by lots of people whether fit or not.

We welcome friends and family wanting to holiday with you. You may wish to stay at the venue but in accommodation of your choice - maybe a family room. We can help you make a suitable choice.
